Thailand is very well known for its beautiful islands with colorful corals, amazing marine underwater life, white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, pristine jungle and waterfalls, that makes it the stuff of dreams and fantasies. Those islands are also an ideal place for diving and snorkeling due to its very clear waters and average temperature above 25 degrees.
Some of those islands have names renowned around the world such as Phuket or Koh Samui but our heart goes to a small island that is only 12 Km long, located in the Andaman Sea, between Krabi, Koh Phi Phi and Koh Lanta. This little piece of paradise is known under the name of Koh Jum.
The centre of the island is covered with thick and dense jungle, natural habitat of monkeys, sea eagles and giant lizards. With a few fisherman settlements on its coast and just a few resorts Koh Jum is a very relaxing place far away from the crowd, noisy nightlife and mass tourism, you would find on the other surrounding island.
Bamboo Island, a small island on the shores of Koh jum is also known for its marine under water life and its sea gypsy community that finally settled on the island years ago and are now working as fisherman’s and pearl divers.
